Vidanga Embelia ribes
Vidanga is a small shrub that grows all over India. It is commonly known as ‘False Black Pepper’ as a result of the plants seeds bearing an un-canny resemblance to those of the black pepper plant. Its flowers are small and green and its leaves are large and glossy.
Traditionally, this plant was considered as a primary treatment for ridding children of worms and parasites.
The fruits are used in the traditional Ayurvedic formula for Mahanarayan Oil that we have made a version of in Active Oil.
